Kansas City gets ‘spoiled’ with break from wintry weather as temps climb above normal
Kansas City won’t have to worry about snow, ice or cold — at least not for this week.
“Later on today for early December, we are going to be spoiled,” said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “We are going to enjoy some mid-50s for afternoon highs and we will clear out the skies leaving us with sunshine as we head through the afternoon.”
The following couple of days are looking to be just as nice.
“Highs will stay in the mid-50s for tomorrow as well as Thursday,” Ritter said. “It’s looking like we are now going to stay dry through the weekend with our rain system on Thursday staying to our south.”
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
There may be a few extra clouds though on Thursday, she said.
Temperatures will dip to the low 40s on Friday, but rebound for the weekend with highs nearing 60 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
The highs this week will be above average, which is typically in the mid-40s for this time of the year.
With the weather being quiet, the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill tweeted out: “Hey KCI, got Winter? Nope!”
