Kansas City weather: Temperatures plummet with 45 mile per hour winds

Strong winds Saturday night into Sunday will bring cold weather to the finish of the holiday weekend.

A wind advisory will be in effect in Kansas City from 6 p.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

High temperatures Saturday could sit in the high 50s or low 60s, the National Weather Service in Kansas City said in a tweet Saturday morning.

Those temperatures will plummet overnight with the help of wind gusts around 40 to 45 miles per hour.

“Expect a big transition because we’re only going to make it into the mid 30s (on Sunday),” Frank said in a weather update for The Star.

The wind chill on Sunday will make it feel like temperatures are in the teens and the 20s, Frank said.

Over the course of the week Frank expects temperatures to rise back into the 50s.
