Weekend forecast in KC calls for temperatures near 60 before cold front moves in

After two cold, rainy days in the Kansas City area, temperatures are supposed to go up to near 60 on Saturday, but as FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria warns, the warm weather will be followed by a cold front.

Starting out Saturday morning, temperatures are expected to be between 45 and 50. Skies will be clearing out, and later in the day, temperatures will rise to the upper 50s, but Lauria said the area will be experiencing some “very windy conditions” with gusts “over 30 mph, if not close to 40.”

Then a cold front is expected to move into the Kansas City area late in the afternoon or early in the evening.

“That’s going to sweep the warm air away and bring in much colder air that’s going to hang around after that,” Lauria said. “That means Sunday is a cold, blustery day for the Chiefs game. Mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures in the middle 30s. Northwest winds, 20 to 30 mph. Could even be flurry.”

According to the forecast, the area should be back into the 50s next week.
