Colder weather, mix of snow, rain possible on Thanksgiving in Kansas City
As temperatures drop, the Kansas City area could see a mix of rain and snow on Thanksgiving, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
Lauria said meteorologists are tracking a storm coming from the southwest.
“It may not make it to Kansas City, but by the same token, it could, too, and if it does — depending on how hard it comes down — we could see a slick spot or two later on tomorrow morning,” Lauria said in an update to The Star.
The best chance of snow and rain is during the late morning and early afternoon, he added.
Then, during the afternoon, the wintry mix is expected to convert over to light rain.
Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s during the day, according to the forecast.
The National Weather Service of Kansas City provided a breakdown on its Twitter page of when the wintry precipitation is expected to pass through the region Thursday.
