Criminal investigation limits WB U.S. 50 to one lane in Johnson County, Missouri
A stretch of westbound U.S. 50 near Powell Gardens in Johnson County, Missouri, was completely shut down early Friday, according to a social media post from the county’s emergency management agency.
The highway, a popular route between Warrensburg and Lee’s Summit, was closed between Northwest Missouri 131 at the unincorporated community of Pittsville and Missouri Route Z near the botanical gardens shortly before 5 a.m. In an update, the agency said that one westbound lane had reopened.
The Johnson County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office said that it was processing a crime scene in the area and that there was “no threat to the citizens in the area.”
