Motorcyclist killed after losing control near Country Club Plaza in Kansas City

One person died after losing control and being thrown off their motorcycle west of Country Club Plaza Wednesday evening, a police spokeswomen said.

The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was heading south on Ward Parkway at about 8:50 p.m. on a blue Suzuki GSXR 1000, when the rider lost control and hit a curb at Brush Creek, said Officer Donna Drake with the Kansas City Police Department.

After hitting the curb, the Suzuki skidded along the curb, throwing the driver off. The driver was taken to hospital and died shortly after arrival.
