Decomposing body found in car in a Missouri Wendy’s parking lot still unidentified

NIXA, Mo. – Nixa officials say a dead body found in the backseat of a car parked at a Wendy’s restaurant last week is still unidentified.

The Springfield News-Leader reports the body found last Thursday was badly decomposed. The car had been in the parking lot for several days.

Nixa Spokeswoman Jill Finney say investigators believe they know the person’s identity but are trying to confirm it through dental records.

Finney says foul play is not suspected. No one has come forward to identify the body.
