Thieves climb through Missouri McDonald’s drive-through window, rob workers
HAZELWOOD, Mo. – Police in the St. Louis suburb of Hazelwood are investigating after three men wearing surgical masks climbed through a McDonald’s drive-through window and forced workers to open a safe.
The crime happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday. No one was hurt. Police are trying to determine if the crime is connected to a similar robbery a couple of hours earlier at a St. Louis McDonald’s.
Hazelwood Police Sgt. David Roth says the robbers pulled up in a black SUV.
The driver stayed in the vehicle while three others, one with a gun, climbed through the window and took employees to a back room and told them to get money from a safe.
The robbers fled back out the drive-through window.
The restaurant is open 24 hours a day for drive-through service.
