Missouri man accused of intentionally running over, killing two people
KENNETT, Mo. – A southeast Missouri man is facing second-degree murder charges for allegedly running down two people with his car.
The Kennett Daily Dunklin Democrat reports that 25-year-old Aaron Campbell and 26-year-old Heather Hampton Carter, both of Kennett, were killed Friday afternoon in Kennett.
Police say 25-year-old Willie Joshua Carter intentionally ran them down.
He is jailed in Craighead County, Arkansas, awaiting extradition to Missouri.
Police say a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Carter intentionally struck a Dodge Durango and left the scene. Police say that when Carter returned, he saw Campbell and Heather Hampton Carter standing near the wrecked vehicle and ran over them.
Police have not released a possible motive for the crime.
