Three dead, one critically injured in Missouri accident

WENTZVILLE, Mo. – Three people are dead and another person is critically injured following a multi-vehicle accident near the eastern Missouri town of Wentzville.

The crash happened about 8 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 61. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two northbound vehicles crossed the median and struck a southbound vehicle head-on.

The three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names and ages have not been released.

A patrol spokesman was not immediately aware of circumstances that may have caused the accident.

Wentzville is about 40 miles northwest of St. Louis.
