Two timber wolves escape cage in Missouri; one shot, one still loose
Authorities in eastern Missouri’s Franklin County continue searching for one of two wolves that escaped from captivity, after the other one was shot by a farmer.
The timber wolves escaped Sunday night or early Monday from a caged area at a home near Robertsville. The Washington Missourian reports that on Monday night, one of the wolves killed sheep on a farm. The farmer shot and killed the wolf.
Authorities received a call Tuesday of a possible sighting of the second wolf along I-44 near St. Clair.
