Heavy rains moved east across Missouri Tuesday, with flood warnings issued for mulitiple regions of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Flood warnings over central and southern areas of Missouri, including Maries, Pulaski, Phelps, Dent, and Oregon counties were to expire in the early morning hours Wednesday.

Flash flooding was reported Tuesday night in Howell County, along the state’s southern border.

Kansas City experienced milder weather, with a little more than an inch and a half of rain reported at Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport over the past day.

Heavier rains were recorded in other cities. Rolla recorded five inches of rain in the same period, while West Plains and Osage beach recorded slightly less.

More than three inches fell on Springfield and Joplin.
