Missouri man accused of killing neighbor
CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. – A southeastern Missouri man is jailed without bond after being accused of fatally shooting a neighbor.
Paul Wayne Rudd, 51, of Wardell is charged in Pemiscot County with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Sheriff Tommy Greenwell says 46-year-old Russell Gray Jr. of Wardell was shot in the back about 6 p.m. Oct. 29 outside his home. He later died at a Hayti hospital.
Circumstances of the shooting have not yet been released.
Rudd was arraigned Monday and was ordered to be represented by a public defender, who did not immediately return a message seeking comment Wednesday.
Rudd’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 12.
Caruthersville is in the Missouri Bootheel region.
