Missouri mail carrier charged with stealing prescription drugs

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. – A southwest Missouri rural mail carrier is charged with stealing prescription drugs from three homes along her route in Lawrence County near Miller.

Lawrence County authorities last week charged Brenda Wyatt of Mount Vernon with two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of theft.

Wyatt also was charged in June with first-degree burglary and theft of controlled substances.

KYTV reports one homeowner awoke from a nap and found Wyatt in his kitchen, another found pills and money gone after Wyatt asked to use the restroom and a third discovered Wyatt at her back door, although the home is not near a mailbox.

Wyatt was released after posting $50,000 bond.
