There are more than 5 million cars and trucks registered in Missouri, and only a fraction of them are luxury vehicles. The term does not have a specific definition, but typically refers to vehicles with high-quality finishes and features.
In December 2025, an average new car sold in America cost $50,326, while a used one typically cost $26,043, according to Kelley Blue Book. According to a consulting company, the market for vehicles over $100,000 is expected to increase in the coming years.
What expensive cars are registered in Missouri?
The Missouri Department of Revenue regularly releases data about vehicle registrations in the state. The brands included in this analysis are those typically ranked in lists of luxury cars, in addition to prestigious sports car brands.
Luxury companies like Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Noble, Maybach and McLaren are not included in the DOR data. This is because brands with 0 to 124 vehicles registered in Missouri are lumped together in the list.
There are fewer than 200 each of Bentley, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin and Lamborghini vehicles registered in the state. A new 2025 model from these brands start at more than $250,000 and can soar to $725,000, according to national averages on Kelley Blue Book.
Outside of cars, Missourians own other types of luxury vehicles. There are two Bentley motorcycles registered in the state, along with 15 each made by Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin. BMW made 3,137 motorcycles registered in Missouri.
As for Tesla’s politically-charged electric vehicle, the Cybertruck, there are 564 Tesla trucks registered in the state. A 2025 Cybertruck starts at $72,000.
Electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian had 897 trucks in the state, along with 524 passenger vehicles. Buying a Rivian 2026 pickup or SUV would set you back more than $120,000.
For context, there are 531,268 cars and trucks registered in Jackson County alone, and almost 33,000 of them are Nissans, according to DOR data.
