Angry school bus driver pulls over and punches two students, Missouri cops say
A school bus driver punched two students and then abandoned kids on the side of the road, Missouri police said.
The substitute bus driver, identified as Lamar Murry, was arrested at Hazelwood Central High School on May 2 and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to court documents.
His attorney could not be reached for comment.
Murry got angry at a group of kids on the bus, so he pulled over to confront them, Florissant police said in a probable cause statement.
He approached one student and punched them twice in the face, police said.
He held another student face down in a seat, then punched and scratched him, the probable cause statement said. Murry is also accused of pulling the child’s hair.
The bus driver abandoned students on the side of the road and drove away before police arrived, the documents said. The two victims showed visible injuries, police said.
Murry is held in St. Louis County Jail on a $75,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 12.
Florissant is about a 20-mile drive northwest from St. Louis.
