A museum worker became aggressive with his co-workers, then headbutted one in the face, Missouri police said.

A manager guided 37-year-old Rodney Ward away from staff at the City Museum in St. Louis on April 29 and into an emergency stairwell, according to a probable cause statement.

While in the stairwell, Ward picked up a 2x4 wooden board and went to the third floor of the museum, St. Louis police said.

Officers found Ward wielding the piece of wood and convinced him to put it down, the probable cause statement filed April 30 said.

He was handcuffed but started to resist arrest, police said. He planted his feet to restrict his movement, then kicked one of the officers in the head, the probable cause said. The officer suffered minor injuries.

Ward was tased and charged with two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest, court documents said. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 29.
