OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – Authorities say they don’t yet know what caused a heavy fire that killed four children in a central Missouri condo earlier this week.

The fire swept through the condominium building in Osage Beach at the Lake of the Ozarks late Tuesday, killing four children.

Osage Beach authorities on Thursday identified the children as 5-year-old Joshua Hendrickson, 4-year-old Lee Ann Hendrickson, 2-year-old Zeza Bradshaw and 2-year-old Kairi Helton.

Firefighters rescued two adults from a third-floor unit, but they had to go through a window to reach the children in the upstairs unit because the stairwell had collapsed.

The police and fire departments said Thursday an area outside the door of the condo where the children were is believed to be where the fire started. But the cause is undetermined primarily because the condo was so heavily damaged.
