Condo for sale in Missouri is wild. ‘This needs to be a film set.’ Check it out
A bizarre condo inside the St. Louis, Missouri, City Museum is the talk of a popular social media real estate page — and for good reason.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is listed for $450,000. While it has a lot of space throughout its 2,763 square feet, the design is pretty extreme.
“Own a piece of history that was retrofitted by the creator of City Museum for his family. To Bob (Cassilly) it was the culmination of a dream come true,” the listing on Zillow.com says. “This loft represents everything that was Bob.”
Cassilly was a popular — and eccentric — sculptor who created the City Museum and died in 2011 at the age of 61, the New York Times reported.. The City Museum is a gigantic indoor/outdoor playground for adults and children alike.
The home Cassilly loved is a filled with secrets and excitement including:
Large windows
Walk-in closets
Custom showers
Custom shelving
Unique artifacts
Crawl through tunnel
Play area
“City Museum attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually,” the listing says. “Live in a top 50 Museum in America.”
The cool apartment was featured on Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page and Twitter account that highlights unique properties for sale all over the country. And people loved it.
“ST Louis resident checking in, and this man was a local hero,” one person said about Cassilly. “The city museum is one of the wildest, most unique things you can do in the whole country and probably #1 thing visitors have to see, even more than the arch. Its called a museum but its closer to ‘a McDonalds play place on steroids.’”
“The city museum is so cool, while great for kids the architectural and industrial collections are amazing,” another commented.
“If you know and/or have been to City Museum you would absolutely understand the design of this loft,” someone pointed out.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a house that I simultaneously love and hate as much as this house,” one person noted. “Genuinely conflicted.”
“This place would be a nightmare to dust, but I LOVE it,” another said.
“This makes me want to go to a brewery all of a sudden,” someone tweeted.
“This needs to be a film set,” one person observed.
The listing specifies that “short-term renting” is not permitted for the condo.
