Police investigate deaths of two southwest Missouri women
MONETT, Mo. – Police are investigating the deaths of two women in separate homes in southwest Missouri.
Authorities say the husband of 37-year-old Anna K. Smith found her dead Saturday evening in their home in Monett. Police say her cause of death was not immediately apparent.
The Joplin Globe reports police received a call shortly after Smith’s body was found that a second woman 25-year-old Tosha M. Norris, had been found dead in her home.
The cause of her death also was not obvious.
A 35-year-old man who was in a relationship with Norris was taken into custody after detectives learned he had been with both women on Saturday. Police say the suspect was wanted on a felony warrant for domestic violence, in a case in which Norris was the victim.
Monett is about 40 miles east of Joplin.
