Missouri man hospitalized after being stuck in pipe

FOLEY, Mo. – An eastern Missouri man is hospitalized after getting stuck in a pipe for more than three hours.

It happened Thursday in Lincoln County. KMOV-TV reports that the man was trying to help a neighbor clear debris during a rain storm when his leg got stuck in a pipe that drains water from a lake near Foley.

The men cleared the debris, allowing water to flow again, but the flow somehow sucked the man’s leg into the pipe, trapping him.

The man was able to keep his head above water. Firefighters had to cut into a levee that holds, which relieved the pressure on the pipe.

The man was hospitalized for moderate injuries and hypothermia. His name has not been released.
