One killed in Missouri in collision between Amish carriage, SUV
WHEELING, Mo. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a person died when a sports utility vehicle hit an Amish horse-drawn carriage in northwest Missouri.
The patrol says the accident happened Thursday morning on a state highway near Wheeling in Livingston County, about 80 miles at of St. Joseph.
A person in the carriage died. The deceased person’s name was not released.
Patrol Sgt. Jacob Angle says the vehicle apparently hit the carriage from behind.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports that Angle said two juveniles in the buggy suffered non-life threatening injuries. The SUV driver was not injured.
