Police: Kansas man stabs son, threatens grandson with knife

WICHITA – A 53-year-old man has been arrested after Wichita police say he stabbed his 32-year-old son and threatened his 11-year-old grandson with a knife.

Wichita Police Department Sgt. Steve Yarberry said that the incident happened shortly before 9:40 p.m. Saturday.

Police say someone called 911 and reported that the suspect stabbed his son with a pocketknife after a verbal and physical altercation.

Yarberry said that the son was stabbed in the abdomen and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The grandson was not injured in the incident.

The 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, domestic violence and aggravated assault.
