A Miami County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher has been arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, according to authorities.

Debbie Henson was a dispatch supervisor with the Miami County Sheriff's Office until she was arrested by Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents on Jan. 4. She is no longer employed by the agency, according to the sheriff’s office.

In addition to the drug charge, Henson faces one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and official misconduct, both misdemeanors.

Henson had won the Outstanding Supervisory Performance Award from the Mid-America Regional Council in 2012, according to the Miami County Republic newspaper. Henson was with the sheriff’s office for about 18 years.

Henson was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
