Jury trial set for Goddard man facing child sex charge in Texas

A 42-year-old Goddard man pleaded not guilty this week to a federal child sex charge in Texas and requested a jury trial.

The trial for Paul Grimm has been set for June 30 in Galveston, Texas, according to court documents filed Tuesday by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District in Texas.

Grimm was

indicted last month

on one count of taking a minor from Ohio across state lines with the intent of having sex with her, court records show. He remains in custody in Galveston County Jail.

Grimm, a Kansas Air National Guardsman who is stationed at McConnell Air Force Base,

was arrested March 29

in Galveston after he and the girl got off a cruise ship, according to a criminal complaint.

U.S. Customs found naked pictures of the girl on Grimm’s cellphone. The girl told FBI agents she had sex with Grimm.
