Kansas man hit, killed by semi

WICHITA — The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 61-year old El Dorado man died after he was hit by a semi-trailer truck on a highway in northeast Wichita.

The patrol says the accident Monday afternoon on Kansas 96 killed Larry Dobbs.

Dobbs was picking up debris that had fallen from another truck onto the highway.

The patrol says the truck hit Dobbs after it swerved to avoid other vehicles that had stopped because of the debris. Dobbs was dead at the scene.
