Bottles of an intestinal cleanser have been recalled for possibly being too explosive
Mountain Meadow Herbs says its Candida Flush endotoxin cleanser provides “gentle intestinal cleansing,” but a problem with “forceful” bursts of air have caused a product recall.
The problematic bursts come from the bottle, not the bottom.
The company-written, FDA-posted recall notice says there’s an “exploding bottle risk” in bottles from one lot because they “have become pressurized over time in storage. When opened, the product may forcefully expel air as well as portions of capsules and powder. This may result in customers sustaining injuries to their hands and eyes, which may require medical attention.”
Mountain Meadow said the problem was discovered after a customer complaint prompted an internal investigation.
The 54 bottles, 240 capsules per bottle, from lot No. 0120011Q went to sellers in New York, Indiana, Minnesota, Montana, Tennessee and Ontario province in Canada and direct to consumers in Missouri, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin.
If you have these bottles, throw them out or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. If you have questions, email Mountain Meadow at info@mmherbs.com or call them at 888-528-8615, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time.
