Here’s when and where you can vote early in Johnson and Wyandotte counties before Nov. 7

Election Day is just a few weeks away on Nov. 7, but you can cast your ballot early in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties starting Saturday.

No excuse is needed to vote early or absentee in Kansas, making it easy to weigh in on your local candidates and ballot questions.

Will you be busy on Election Day, or do you just want to get voting out of the way? Here’s what you need to know about advance voting in Kansas.

Where can I vote early in Johnson County?

Johnson County has 10 early voting sites this year, and voters can stop by any of them during their open hours as long as they are registered to vote in Johnson County and bring a valid photo ID.

The 10 sites are all open on the following days and times:

  • Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

  • Monday, Oct. 30 - Friday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

  • Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

All 10 sites are closed on Sundays. The three sites marked with an asterisk (*) are also open on Monday, Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. until noon.

  • *Arts and Heritage Center - 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park

  • *Hilltop Conference Center - 7700 W. 143rd St., Overland Park

  • Johnson County Northeast Offices - 6000 Lamar Ave., Mission

  • Monticello Library - 22435 W. 66th St., Shawnee

  • *Johnson County Election Office - 2101 E. Kansas City Rd, Olathe

  • JCCC Midwest Trust Center - 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park

  • Johnson County Sunset Offices - 11811 S Sunset Dr., Olathe

  • Olathe Indian Creek Library - 16100 W 135th St., Olathe

  • Olathe Downtown Library - 260 E. Santa Fe, Olathe

  • New Century Fieldhouse - 551 New Century Pkwy, New Century

Where can I vote early in Wyandotte County?

Wyandotte County has five early voting sites this year, and voters can stop by any of them during their open hours as long as they are registered to vote in Wyandotte County and bring a valid photo ID.

The five sites are all open on the following days and times:

  • Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Monday, Oct. 30 - Friday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

All five sites are closed on Sundays. Only the Wyandotte County Election Office is also open on Monday, Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. until noon.

  • Wyandotte County Election Office - 850 State Ave, Kansas City, Kansas

  • Patricia Diane Kane Community Center - 3130 N. 122nd St, Kansas City, Kansas

  • Joe Amayo/Argentine Community Center - 2810 Metropolitan Ave, Kansas City, Kansas

  • Edwardsville City Hall Training Room - 670 S. 4th St, Edwardsville, Kansas

  • Eisenhower Recreation Center - 2901 N. 72nd St, Kansas City, Kansas

What do I need to bring to vote early?

To vote early in person, simply show up to the advance voting location of your choice with a photo ID. If you don’t have a valid photo ID based on Kansas state law, you will be given a provisional ballot.

You do not need an excuse to vote early in Kansas, and you can vote early at any advance voting location as long as it is within the county where you are registered to vote.
