Here’s where Vegas odds put the Democratic candidates ahead of the Washington primary

With the primary field narrowed down to two leading candidates, Las Vegas bookmakers are looking at a tight race in Washington state but putting their money on former Vice President Joe Biden after his string of victories in South Carolina and on Super Tuesday.

An aggregate of polls shows a close race between Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Biden. Recent polls show the two front-runners essentially tied with Biden at 39.8% and Sanders at 37.1%, according to the poll tracking site FiveThirtyEight. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, the only other candidate left in the race, is polling at 1.4%.

Bovada, a popular online betting site, puts the odds on Biden at -240 and Sanders at +175. Those odds mean that if you bet $240 on Biden, you’d win $100. If you put down $100 on Sanders, you’d win $175.

“Sanders is on the ropes and losing ground by the day in a volatile Democratic primary race that suddenly looks like a Biden runaway,” the site Bookies News reports.

“Even more concerning for Sanders are Tuesday’s primary odds, with five states set to hold primaries (North Dakota holds a caucus). Sanders is now the underdog in all five primary states, and that included Idaho and Washington, where Sanders was favored to win just two days ago,” the site reported.

“Biden is now -250 to win Idaho and -155 to win Washington despite the fact that Sanders was just recently in great shape on the West Coast. Biden is also a massive favorite in Michigan (-3335), Mississippi (-10000) and Missouri (-10000),” according to Bookies News.

The site BetOnline also gives Biden the best odds to take the Democratic nomination, putting the former VP at -1,000 to +600 for the senator from Vermont.

Voters are also going to the polls Tuesday in Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi and Missouri, and caucusing in North Dakota.
