Jeb Bush now says he would not have invaded Iraq

Likely Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said Thursday he would not have invaded Iraq knowing what he does now, completing a reversal of his response to that question in a Fox News interview Monday.

“I would have not engaged, I would not have gone into Iraq,” Bush said in Tempe, Arizona, after touring a local brewery.

He has faced increasing scrutiny since the airing of the Fox interview, where he said he would have authorized the war, even knowing what is known now about the faulty intelligence leading up to the 2003 invasion his brother George W. Bush authorized as president.

On Tuesday, he said he had misheard the question and didn’t have an answer to the “hypothetical” inquiry.
