KCPD: numerous gunshots fired into Kansas City apartments

Kansas City police are investigating gunshots that were fired at two apartment units late Thursday in the 3700 block of Wabash Avenue.

The separate shootings occurred about 11:30 p.m.

Officers were initially sent to the residence on a report of shots fired. The call was qucikly updated to a shots fired into a residence.

Officers noticed that several rounds were fired into one apartment and then saw that additional rounds were fired into another apartment.

Both apartments were occupied but no injuries were reported.

Crime scene investigators recovered several shell casings from a rifle and handgun on the southwest corner of 37th Street and Wabash Avenue.
