Ken Bacchus sworn in as Jackson County legislator
Former Kansas City Councilman Ken Bacchus was sworn in Monday as James Tindall’s temporary replacement on the Jackson County Legislature.
Legislators unanimously chose Bacchus over two other nominees to fill the 2nd District seat until the end of the year.
Tindall resigned at the end of June, six month before his term was to expire. Three men are running in the Aug. 5 Democratic primary to fill the next four-year term starting in January. Bacchus is not among them.
Bacchus served on the council from 1991 to 1999.
