Man arrested in KC after drug-fueled crime spree

A man apparently high on PCP fired a shot into an occupied city bus and attempted to carjack three vehicles before Kansas City police arrested him Monday.

The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. at 63rd Street and Prospect Avenue.

According to police, the suspect pointed a handgun at a woman inside a vehicle and attempted to take three other occupied vehicles. He then fired a shot into the side of the bus. None of the nine people on board was injured, police said.

The man was armed with a gun when officers arrested him. After his arrest, the man spit at an officer and kicked an ambulance crew member in the face. A vial containing what was believed to be PCP was found in his backpack, according to police.
