Tom Gerend named first executive director of Kansas City streetcar system
The Kansas City Streetcar Authority has chosen a local transportation planner as the first executive director of the new streetcar system.
Tom Gerend has spent the past eight years leading regional transportation planning, including planning for the downtown streetcar starter line, with the Mid-America Regional Council.
Gerend begins his new position in mid-July.
