Olathe woman killed in head-on crash with semi on icy Kansas highway

A 20-year-old Olathe woman died in a head-on collision with a semitrailer on an icy highway in Greenwood County, Kan., on New Year’s Day.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Quincy Foster.

Foster was headed west on U.S. 400 in a 2003 Ford Escape when she lost control on an icy road, crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2014 Freightliner semitrailer.

The crash occurred about 4:50 p.m. near X Road, east of Severy, Kan., which is a little more than an hour east of Wichita.

Foster, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, as well as a passenger, were not injured.
