Obamacare questions? You can chat with experts online
Have a computer but don’t have health insurance?
The Department of Health and Human Services and the Cover KC enrollment campaign will hold an online Facebook conversation from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to discuss health insurance options available through the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
People who go to www.facebook.com/coverkc will be able to chat with experts and learn about the federal health insurance plan marketplace, penalties for not having coverage in 2016 and financial assistance available to many people with moderate incomes who purchase coverage through the marketplace.
According to Health and Human Services, eight in 10 people who are eligible for marketplace coverage qualify for financial assistance to lower the cost of their monthly premiums.
Open enrollment for marketplace insurance plans continues through Jan. 31.
