Police: Woman strangled neighbor, tried to cook him

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Florida woman charged with strangling and dismembering her neighbor is accused of attempting to cook him to hide evidence.

Orlando television station WESH reports court documents say Angela Stoldt tried to get rid of her neighbor’s corpse by putting several body parts in an oven and in pots on the stove. When that didn’t work, she bagged the parts and threw them in the trash.

A grand jury in Daytona Beach last week upgraded Stoldt’s charges to first-degree murder from second degree murder in the death of her neighbor, James Sheaffer.

Authorities say Stoldt relied on Sheaffer for money, although their relationship was platonic, and that money was the motive for the killing.

Stoldt is being held without bond.
