Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders takes time off to mourn father

Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders has appointed a temporary replacement while he takes time off to mourn the death of his father.

The county’s chief administrative officer, Mary Lou Brown, is acting county executive, which allows her to sign documents that require the signature of the county executive.

Sanders issued a statement Wednesday saying he would return to work on Monday. His father, Bruce Sanders, died Sept. 2, at age 73.
