Adam’s Mark hotel addresses bedbug problem
The Adam’s Mark hotel near the Truman Sports Complex has addressed its bedbug problem, according to the Kansas City Health Department.
The problem came to light in mid-August after a Twitter complaint from a women’s soccer star. Portland Thorns forward Alex Morgan tweeted about bedbugs and mold at the Adam’s Mark.
The Kansas City Health Department followed up on Aug. 19 and found evidence of the pests.
But at another inspection Sept. 3, an investigator reported that all rooms with evidence of bedbugs had been heat treated and all the hotel’s rooms had been treated with dusting powder.
“Establishment had professional pest control services inspect all rooms,” the report said.
“They’re open for business,” Bill Snook, a Health Department spokesman, said Tuesday, adding that hotel management had taken corrective action to address all issues of cleanliness raised in an annual inspection on July 29 as well.
A representative for the hotel could not be reached for comment.
