City expects to identify prospective developers for Kemper Arena on Aug. 31
Kansas City expects to release the names of the two responders to the request for Kemper Arena proposals on Aug. 31, after preliminary evaluation.
Foutch Brothers LLC has confirmed it submitted a plan before the Friday night deadline, but the identity of the other party remains a secret. The Missouri Sunshine Law allows such records to remain closed at this point in the procurement process.
City spokesman Chris Hernandez said Monday that once the proposals are presented, the public will be encouraged to provide feedback.
If plans are viable, the city might be in a position to transfer ownership of the underutilized arena in the West Bottoms to a private entity as early as next April.
