The flag of the Kansas City Chiefs will be raised in the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg if the team wins the Super Bowl, under a wager announced Thursday by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson.

But if the Chiefs somehow lose, the Philadelphia Eagles flag will fly in the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City under the bet made with Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat who was born in Kansas City but raised in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Parson, wearing a Chiefs jacket and holding a Chiefs flag in a video posted Thursday, said for him “it’s a special year because it’s the 57th Super Bowl and I’m the 57th governor.” On Twitter, the Republican governor predicted the final score of the game would be 30-27.

“I look forward to Gov. Shapiro flying the Kansas City Chiefs’ flag in Pennsylvania,” Parson said in the video.

Parson said he and Shapiro would autograph and exchange flags before the game. The Missouri governor plans to attend the game on Sunday in Scottsdale, Arizona, his office said last week.

U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat who represents Kansas City, also entered into a Super Bowl wager. Cleaver and U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans, a Democrat who represents Philadelphia, have put barbecue and cheesesteaks on the line.

“I’m hoping he’ll be surrounded with family and people who love him,” Cleaver said about Evans, predicting that the Pennsylvania Democrat will need emotional support after the game.
