KC postpones vote on energy reporting mandate
The Kansas City Council postponed until June 4 a vote on a controversial proposal to require large buildings to measure their energy and water consumption.
Council members said they generally support the plan but wanted to do more outreach to Northland property owners.
Under the proposal, Kansas City would join 13 other cities nationwide in requiring owners of the city’s largest buildings to monitor and report their energy consumption within a few years.
