Bob Petersen, president and CEO of the American Royal Association since 2011, is retiring at the end of this year.

A search for his replacement begins soon. The organization hopes to have a successor in place for at least part of the Royal’s fall season.

American Royal Chair John Mitchell Jr. praised Petersen for helping the organization gain financial stability over the past five years and position it for future growth.

Petersen said he looks forward to re-engaging his consulting business, which manages several agricultural non-profit associations.
