The Kansas City Streetcar Authority on Tuesday approved the new name, logo and branding materials for the downtown streetcar project.

Some think the brand icon looks like a bug or a grill, but it’s really adapted from the universal streetcar symbol. The project is also now officially named KC Streetcar. The branding program resulted from months of work by Willoughby Design Inc.

The icon and other materials are available at www.kcmo.gov.
