Bill Super withdraws from KC Council race

Bill Super, a retired pipe-fitter who had filed to run for the 2nd District Kansas City Council seat, said Wednesday he is withdrawing from the race.

Super said he is dropping out of the race for personal reasons. That leaves Dan Fowler, a longtime civic leader in the Northland, unopposed for the 2nd District seat, which covers Platte County and a small portion of western Clay County .

Fowler will replace Russ Johnson, who is term limited out of office in August.
