Clay Chastain to make final push Monday for his transit plan before voting
Clay Chastain will appear Monday at Union Station to make a final push before casting his vote for his $2 billion, 40-mile light-rail system from Kansas City International Airport to south Kansas City.
Chastain will appear at 2 p.m. at Union Station at 30 W. Pershing Road and then cast his vote at the Kansas City election board inside the building.
The issue appears as Kansas City’s Question No. 3, seeking 25-year sales taxes to help pay for the light-rail and electric bus system.
The measure is Chastain’s boldest vision yet that critics say is impossible to fulfill.
