A photo of a monstrous huntsman spider taken by an Australian rescue organization last year has resurfaced to give the internet a giant case of the creepy crawlies.

The spider’s name is Charlotte.

“Here’s me meeting one of the neighbours!! I don’t just rescue farm animals luckily for this magnificent girl!!,” read the original post on the Barnyard Betty’s Rescue Facebook page in October 2015.

“Can you believe someone wanted to kill this amazing creature!!”

For reasons unknown, Charlotte’s photo has resurfaced in recent days.

(Maybe people started Googling “hunstman spider” after a horrifying video surfaced last week, also from Australia, of one of them carrying a dead mouse up the side of a refrigerator.)

When 9 News Perth posted photos of Charlotte on its Facebook page Thursday, they were shared more than 26,000 times in just eight hours.

“Yes, she is very real and very large and not Photoshopped,” the animal rescue farm in Queensland’s Brisbane Valley wrote. “I’m not sure why now but she is going absolutely viral and become an internet sensation.”

Barnyard Betty’s is a sanctuary for orphaned, mistreated and unwanted farm animals, according to its Facebook page. The person who found Charlotte on the farm released her into the wild.

“She was a beautiful, calm spider, not aggressive in any way and like most spiders she just wanted to go about her business eating bugs and living in peace. She didn’t or doesn’t need to be killed,” they wrote. “Poor spiders are so misunderstood.”

Media, including London’s Daily Mail, now speculate that Charlotte could be a record-breaker.

“The biggest Huntsman spider ever found? Horrifying snap of giant eight-legged creature sends internet into meltdown,” trumpets London’s Mirror.

The huntsman is the world’s largest spider by diameter, according to Live Science, with a leg span that can reach up to 12 inches.

It’s often described as being “the size of a dinner plate,” the science website says.

Charlotte appears to be at least the size of a buffet tray, which is an unappetizing prospect for many who have seen her glory.

“100% approve of and respect what you’re doing here, but please, for the love of God keep that thing and all of its family and friends OVER THERE and the heck away from me,” begged one Facebook commenter.
