Pregnant dancing instructor works the pole while in labor
Kat Bailey had a little time to fill on Sunday between her contractions. So while she was in labor she did a little pole dancing.
Yep. She posted a 33-second video of her pregnancy pole work to Facebook, a clip that has been watched more than 200,000 times.
“I’m officially in labor,” wrote Bailey, a pole dancing and fitness instructor in Nottingham, England. “Got a few hours before we go to the hospital so thought I'd do some pole between contractions.”
Bailey jumped on a pole in her home and performed an Iron X, one of the most advanced moves where a dancer holds onto the bar with both hands and lifts their body into mid-air splits.
“Ta da! Baby can come now,” she said with a flourish as she finished.
She left a lot of women gobsmacked, seen in the comments left on her Facebook page.
“My God.”
“Wow.”
“Eeeeeeeek!!”
“You are mental. Good luck.”
“Between contractions I was screaming,” one woman wrote. “Not a chance on earth I’d have been doing this.”
Bailey had a baby boy on Monday after 24 “brutal” hours of contractions and an hour and a half of active labor “with no pain medication ... because polers are hardcore,” she wrote.
Joshua David Bailey, 7 pounds, 13 ounces, and his mum are doing well.
