KC ranks as 10th sweatiest city in U.S. And we do mean rank

You don’t really need us to tell you how hot it is outside. But you might he happy — or cranky — to know that Kansas City is the 10th sweatiest city in the United States.
For a second year the folks at Honeywell Fans have identified “America’s Sweatiest Cities.
Things are really burning up in North Carolina — Charlotte tops the list, and Raleigh is No. 2.
St. Louis is much sweatier than Kansas City, ranking No. 3.
Rounding out the Top 10: Austin, Texas (No 4.); Richmond, Va.; Miami; Minneapolis; Orlando; Tampa and Kansas City.
Ted Myatt, environmental health scientist and director of research integrity at the University of Rhode Island, identifed cities “where hot and sticky converge to create a significant sweat factor,” the company said in a statement.
He looked at environmental factors, average summer temperatures and proximity to large bodies of water. (No ocean? No breeze.)
He also factored in fitness and recreational sports facilities, and sports teams per capita — because the more we exercise and pack ourselves into crowded stadiums, the more we sweat.
Cities are always sweaty places to live anyway because all that concrete and dark surfaces absorb the heat from the sun during the day and release it at night, according to The Weather Channel.
But judging from that sweat rolling down your face, you knew that already, didn’t you?
