Indiana teen dies when he falls into stump grinder

HARTFORD CITY, Ind. – Authorities say a central Indiana teenager was killed when he apparently stumbled while moving logs and fell into a hydraulic stump grinder.

The Blackford County coroner says Cody Bronnenberg was killed Saturday on a rural property near Hartford City, 80 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Sheriff Jeff Sones tells The (Muncie) Star Press that Bronnenberg, of Yorktown, was working with his uncle, who runs a tree service company.

The sheriff says emergency crews found the teen tangled in the stump grinder and that he was dead when they arrived.
